Registry Data Entry

Thank you very much for your participation in the 2011 registry update. The feedback we have received this year is very positive and we are pleased to announce that data entry may now be performed year round.

If your centre has missed the August 31st deadline, please submit the data at your earliest convenience, we will do our best to include it in our Bi-Annual report after the 2011 ISBTS preliminary results presentation.

Long Term Outcomes in Paediatric SB Transplantation

Dear colleague

As you know, this year we have an opportunity to gain additional insight into long term outcomes in pediatric intestine transplantation with our registry data through the completion of a limited number of data points such as height, weight at follow-up, surgical complications (reoperations), and information on immunosuppression related morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, and renal function (creatinine). This will be added to our usual data of patient and graft survival and cause of graft loss.

The intent of this augmented data submission for the pediatric part of the registry is to gain valuable information about long term outcomes that could result in preliminary data for peer reviewed publication as well as to encourage all participating centers to develop further ideas for future data elements and analysis. Your participation in all aspects of this process is welcome and needed to make the registry of increasing value to all of us and our community.

I would be glad to welcome additional ideas on future data elements for the pediatric component of the registry as well the current submission. For any additional information please contact me or the registry directly.

Best regards,

George Mazariegos
